JP Morgan Chase and Bank One are planning to merge in a $58bn deal to become a global giant. The combined group is seeking a series of distribution pacts with other banks that do not have the capability to manufacture their own product in sectors such as bonds and complex structured finance, including hedge fund derivatives, especially in Europe.
