Ascot Lloyd Appoints First CFO

The UK financial advisory firm, which provides services including wealth management, has named a financial chief.
Ascot Lloyd has appointed Iain Balchin from UK wealth manager St James’s Place as its chief financial officer, a newly-created role.
Balchin joins Ascot Lloyd from St James’s Place where he spent three years as executive director of finance, transforming the finance function as the company transitioned into the FTSE 100. He will be based in Oxford.
He has 18 years’ experience in the financial services and wealth management sector, having previously held senior finance positions at BNP Paribas, AIG, Standard Chartered and Credit Suisse. He was also finance director of corporate banking at Lloyds Banking Group.
“Iain has considerable experience of driving improvements in financial performance and shaping the future of a number of successful businesses. We welcome him as a member of the team as we continue to enhance the quality of our offering and drive the company’s expansion,” said Richard Dunbabin, chief executive at Ascot Lloyd.
The Wokingham-headquartered firm, which proves financial planning, wealth management and corporate benefit solutions, manages £2.2 billion ($3.1 billion) from its network of UK offices.
