Ascendant Compliance Management, the compliance consultancy firm, has opened for business in Chicago.

The manager of the new office is assistant vice president David Lourie, who joined in 2013 and specialises in the Investment Advisors Act 1940. He regularly conducts on-site compliance reviews for investment advisers, hedge funds and private equity firms and is an expert on the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The consultancy has its headquarters in Salisbury in Connecticut, with offices in New York City and San Francisco.
