Artemis Unveils Three New US Equity Funds

Artemis has opened the offer period for three new US equity funds managed by Cormac Weldon and Stephen Moore. The offer period will run until 22 September, and until then shares in the funds will be priced at £1 a share. The Artemis US Equity Fund invests in around 60 to 80 stocks and aims to outperform the S&P 500, while the Artemis US Select Fund invests in around 40 to 60 stocks from across the market-cap spectrum. Both are managed by Cormac Weldon who joined from Threadneedle earlier this year. The Artemis US Extended Alpha Fund is a UCITS 150/50 fund designed to outperform the S&P 500 index by combining a traditional long portfolio of US stocks with a portfolio of short positions and is managed by Moore. “Yes, some parts of the American market are looking fully valued. But whether it’s from the revolution in shale oil & gas or from innovation in the tech sector, I am seeing just as many attractive investment opportunities in North America as I have throughout my 25-year career,” said Weldon. All three draw on the top-down strategic analysis and bottom-up, stock-specific research of Artemis’ seven-strong US team.
