Artemis Launches Two New US Funds

Fund manager Artemis will launch two new US equity funds on Monday.

Fund manager Artemis will launch two new US equity funds on Monday.

Named the Artemis US Smaller Companies Fund and the Artemis US Absolute Return Fund, they will be managed by Cormac Weldon and Stephen Moore who both joined from Threadneedle earlier this year.

“Having joined Artemis in May, it’s a great pleasure to launch these last two funds. Lower share prices have given us attractive entry points into a number of leading US companies. I am seeing just as many investment opportunities in North America now as I have throughout my 25-year career,” said Cormac Weldon, team head.

It follows three new US equity funds launched in September also managed by Cormac Weldon and Stephen Moore.

The Artemis US Equity Fund invests in around 60 to 80 stocks and aims to outperform the S&P 500, while the Artemis US Select Fund invests in around 40 to 60 stocks from across the market-cap spectrum.

The Artemis US Extended Alpha Fund is a UCITS 150/50 fund designed to outperform the S&P 500 index by combining a traditional long portfolio of US stocks with a portfolio of short positions.
