ANZ Private Bank has launched a new programme that invites wealthy individuals to invest their money in Australia.

The new Significant Investor Visa solution is specifically for individuals with a minimum investment capacity of A$5 million ($4.6 million). The SIV programme itself was launched in 2012 as an Australian government initiative to bring investment into the local economy while providing opportunities for migrants to come to the country.

ANZ's SIV products meets the new visa class rules in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and West Australia and will offer customers a choice of two Australian equity portfolios, retention of beneficial ownership of assets held in the account to avoid inheritance tax consequences, 24/7 online access to accounts and portfolio construction guidance. 

Account holders will be supported by the Asian private banking teams based in each state.
