Anglo Irish Bank has opened a Jersey branch for non-bank financial intermediary clients, specifically targeting the trust and fund management sector. "Jersey has total bank deposits in excess of £180 billion and, with cash now being an asset class in its own right, we are confident we can improve returns for non-bank intermediary clients with cash on deposit," the bank said in a statement. Last month, Anglo Irish sold its Isle of Man trust company to its management for £35 million.
