AMP Capital Boosts Asian Equities Team In Hong Kong

Investment house AMP Capital has appointed Andy Peng to the new role of portfolio manager/analyst in the Asian equities team, based in Hong Kong.

As of 8 March, Peng covers the telecoms, utilities and healthcare (Pan Asia) and consumer discretionary (ex-Greater China) sectors, the firm said in a statement released yesterday.

“I am delighted to have Andy on board. He brings good experience across a range of sectors and will complement the breadth of skills already in the team,” said Jonathan Reoch, head of Asia ex-Greater China.

“The team is now fully resourced and we are looking forward to Andy helping us build on the early progress we’ve made so far following the team move to Hong Kong,” he continued

Peng previously spent three years as an investment analyst covering Asian equities at Ward Ferry Management in Hong Kong and prior to that he spent two years at Goldman Sachs Capital Partners in San Francisco as an analyst focused on technology start-ups.

AMP Capital relocated its Asian equities team to Hong Kong in September 2012 to manage its Pan Asia and China A share portfolios. It has now hired four portfolio managers/analysts and moved two existing team members to the region to build out the new team.

The firm had over $128 billion in funds under management globally in December 2012.
