Alliance Bank Appoints Group Chief Financial Officer

Alliance Bank Malaysia has named Eric Lee as its new group chief financial officer, the bank said in a statement Wednesday.

Mr Lee had previously assumed leadership positions, including finance director, regional controller, and finance controller, in major global companies. In his new role, he will be responsible for the overall strategy and management of group finance. He replaces Philip Goh Teck Siang, who had retired at the end of 2009.

Alliance Financial Group is fully integrated financial services firm that offers end to end solutions through consumer banking, commercial banking, wholesale banking, treasury, stockbroking, asset management, and unit trust management.

The bank had been embroiled in a legal controversy recently when its chief executive officer Datuk Bridget Lai became the subject of an internal probe concerning operational matters. In an earlier press statement, the company said that Ms Lai is currently on voluntary leave but remains its CEO. Choo Joon Keong has been appointed Relief Officer to take over temporarily.
