Alabama Law Firm Expands Securities Practice With New Partner

Birmingham, AL-based law firm Christian & Small has taken on Thomas Krebs, who was most recently senior counsel to the House Financial Services Committee, as a partner to lead and expand its securities practice group.
Krebs’ practice areas include class action and complex litigation, securities and financial services litigation, and securities regulatory matters with the SEC, FINRA and state regulations. He is the former director of the Alabama Securities Commission and has practiced securities law for 35 years, with a focus on securities business litigation and regulatory compliance.
Before working as senior counsel to the House Financial Services Committee in Washington, DC, Krebs served as assistant director and deputy general counsel of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, where he spearheaded a number of the investigations arising out of the financial crisis.
Following Krebs' appointment, the firm said it will add additional lawyers in this field "as the work merits."
“Given what has occurred over the last four or five years in our capital markets, there will be much work to be done protecting investors and our legitimate capital markets,” said Krebs.
Christian & Small focuses on the areas of litigation, business and tax and is a member of the International Society of Primerus Law Firms.
