Acquisitions Strengthen Vistra’s Swiss Operations

Vistra, the global trust and fiduciary services firm, has acquired Althea, a privately-owned trust and corporate services provider in Geneva.

“[Switzerland is] an important wealth management centre, benefiting from asset inflows originating in high-growth regions. This latest acquisition adds a skilled and experienced team of professionals with a valued client base to Vistra,” Walter Stresemann, managing director of Vistra Geneva, said in a statement.

At the same time, Vistra confirmed it has purchased the remaining shares in Centrapriv Group, the Zurich-based fiduciary and corporate consultancy, in which it previously had a 50 per cent share. Centrapriv’s operations will now be rebranded as Vistra Zurich and Vistra Zug.

In other news, Vistra recently bought BSI Trust Corporation (Singapore), part of BSI Bank, the Switzerland-headquartered bank that has been put up for sale by Italian insurer parent Generali.

Following these acquisitions, Vistra now employs over 60 staff in Switzerland across its Geneva, Zurich and Zug offices. Globally the firm has around 350 employees in 27 offices covering 20 jurisdictions.
