Aberdeen Asset Management To Launch EM, High Yield Bond Funds

Aberdeen Asset Management is to launch two new bond funds that focus on emerging markets and high yield in March 2011.

The Aberdeen Emerging Markets Bond Fund and the Aberdeen High Yield Bond Fund, part of the group's UK OEIC range, have each been seeded with £10 million (around $16.1 million).

The emerging markets fund will be based on the existing Luxembourg-domiciled, Aberdeen Global Emerging Markets Bond Fund and will be managed by Brett Diment in London. The fund will have a blended portfolio of hard and local currency sovereign and corporate debt, seeking to distribute income monthly.

Meanwhile, the high yield bond fund will be based on the Luxembourg-domiciled, Aberdeen Global High Yield Bond Fund and will be managed by Paul Reed. It will aim to provide an attractive level of monthly income with the opportunity for some long-term capital return.
