Aberdeen Asset Management Partners Up With UK Pensions Consultancy

The London-listed asset management group has joined forces with Hymans Robertson as part of its growth drive in the savings market.
Aberdeen Asset Management has teamed up with pensions consultancy Hymans Robertson to make the latter's technology available outside the workplace (defined contribution) market for the first time.
The partnership comes as part of Aberdeen Asset Management's new initiative to help investors outside of the workplace reach their saving goals. It means the asset manager will now be able to offer the service to a wide range of individual UK investors.
Over the past year, Hymans Robertson's online technology, GO, has analysed the savings plans of 400,000 individuals, bringing over £2 billion of assets under advice.
“This ground-breaking strategic partnership combines the actuarial expertise of one of the leading pension consultants with one of the leading investment management brands in the UK,” said global head of distribution at Aberdeen Asset Management, John Brett.
“We have a strong track record serving the workplace savings market, where our GO technology is being used by many employers to help employees make proper provision for retirement. It is an exciting development for the firm to be diversifying into new areas, using our technology solutions to help investors outside of the workplace for the first time,” said Hymans Robertson's senior partner, Ronnie Bowie.
