Woori Investment Enters Distribution Partnership With NY Firm For South Korea, Asia

Woori Investment & Securities, the Seoul-headquartered investment firm, has partnered with New York alternative investment company SkyBridge Capital to distribute the latter's hedge fund products in Korea and other regions in Asia.
The deal further expands Woori's coverage of the regional market, where it is already one of the largest securities firms. SkyBridge manages or advises on around $7.9 billion in assets as of 30 April 2013 through its hedge fund portfolio of multi-advisor, multi-strategy fund of hedge fund products, custom portfolios and advisory services.
"Investors in this region are seeking to diversify portfolios to include more alternative investment options," said Eun Soo Kim, head of global division for Woori Investment & Securities.
Woori's range of services cover wealth management, investment banking and prime brokerage. It records KRW148.9 trillion ($130.9 billion) in client assets.
