International private client lawyers, Withers, is this year hosting its Annual Private Client Conference in Switzerland. The event will take place in Geneva and Zurich on 31 January and 1 February 2006 respectively. The conference is seen as a move to reinforce the firm’s presence in Switzerland after it opened an office in Geneva last autumn. The conference is called "The World is Getting Smaller But No Less Taxing" and will focus on preserving wealth as people and their assets move around the world. Justine Markovitz, head of Withers' Geneva office said: "The conference will consider the latest developments affecting wealth planning in the US and the UK, debate the practical differences between the offshore jurisdictions in the West (Bermuda and Cayman) and the East (Singapore and New Zealand) and offer solutions for families from the Middle East and Latin America."
