Who’s Moving Where in Wealth Management – Brooks Macdonald, Crestbridge

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Brooks Macdonald 
Brooks Macdonald, an investment manager with ÂŁ16.2 billion ($19.7in funds under management, has announced three appointments in its senior team.

Leanne Barnham will be joining Brooks Macdonald in the newly-created role of global head of marketing, reporting to Sarah Ackland, global head of distribution and marketing. Barnham, who will be responsible for managing the marketing strategy and execution, has more than 15 years’ experience in investment management

She joins from Ninety One where she was head of UK marketing. Barnham was previously global head of marketing with Architas Multi-Manager and has worked in marketing roles at several investment management houses.

Sarah Ackland, global head of distribution and marketing at Brooks Macdonald, said: “Leanne’s experience and proven industry expertise make her a perfect fit to lead the marketing team as we move into our next phase of growth. I am very much looking forward to working with Leanne to continue to drive forward the firm’s proposition.”

Andrew Bennie and Rachael Marsden have been appointed as the heads of investment management for Manchester and Leeds, respectively, in recognition of their important contribution to the Manchester and Leeds teams.

Bennie, who has been at Brooks Macdonald for 13 years, was promoted to senior investment director last year. He is experienced at managing bespoke investment portfolios on behalf of a range of private clients.

Marsden, who joined Brooks Macdonald in 2019, was also promoted to senior investment director last year. She has more than 15 years’ experience of managing portfolios for advisors, private clients, charities, companies, trusts and pensions.

Crestbridge 
Crestbridge, a global administration, management and corporate governance solutions business, has expanded its Luxembourg team with two senior hires. Teodora Croitoru has been appointed as head of compliance, fund services, and Emmanuelle Poret has been appointed as head of client onboarding, fund services and ManCo.

Croitoru will be responsible for the continuing development of Crestbridge’s business compliance strategy and risk management framework for fund services in Luxembourg, as well as the delivery of oversight and reporting to support compliance with Luxembourg laws and regulations.

Croitoru has more than 14 years’ experience in the Luxembourg financial services industry with particular expertise in AML, risk and compliance obligations. She was previously with a global financial services provider where she was responsible for all aspects of compliance oversight and monitoring. Her remit there also included AML/KYC and financial crime review, escalation and training in her role as head of compliance and AML/CFT compliance officer (“RC”). Croitoru holds an MBA in digital transformation, a master of science in banking and finance, and a master of mathematics.

Poret will be responsible for all areas of client onboarding across its fund servicing and ManCo divisions, ensuring that the Luxembourg office continues to grow its client base while offering a best-in-class service.

Previously, Poret was head of client onboarding for an established international provider of corporate and fund administration services. She managed a team responsible for delivering a smooth and efficient onboarding process to new clients, while supporting the setup of companies and fund structures to collect accurate AML/KYC information and managing client relationships. Poret has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, most of which she spent working at a law firm in Luxembourg before moving to their corporate and investor services company to develop and lead the CRM team.

Poret holds an LLM master II European litigation and a master in public law. She was also a member of the Luxembourg Bar.
