Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management UK and Crown Dependencies
(CGWM) has appointed David Blake, investment director.
Blake (pictured), who specialises in discretionary investment management and has over 25 years’ experience in the industry, was formerly at Rathbones, where he managed private and institutional clients, charities, family offices and entrepreneurs. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Previously he worked at Jupiter Asset Management, Bestinvest and Brooks Macdonald Asset Management.
Old Mill
Old Mill, based in
the South West of the UK, has appointed chartered financial
planner Tim Blowers to join the wealth management team.
Blowers has more than 12 years’ experience in financial services, with particular expertise in retirement planning and sustainable and ethical investment.
He started his career in technical roles at investment platform Novia Financial Plc before joining Brunel Capital Partners as a paraplanner in 2016. Blowers then joined Evelyn Partners (formerly Tilney Smith & Williamson) in the paraplanning team. He was also a member of the investment committee with responsibility for sustainable portfolios, and eventually was made an associate director.
In addition to holding Chartered Financial Planner status, Blowers is qualified in long-term care insurance. He has extensive knowledge of later life planning with expertise in pensions – including lifetime allowance and protections – inheritance tax planning, estate planning, cashflow planning and complex scenarios.
