The latest senior executive moves in wealth management around the world.
Whitman Asset Management
Whitman Asset
Management, the fund management and private client investment
firm, has made two hires in its private client team.
Riccardo Persona is joining as an investment manager from Brewin
Dolphin and Andrew Stevens is joining from Quilter Cheviot. They
will bring all trading in-house and launch an execution-only
business for private clients. Further appointments are planned in
the coming months, the firm said in a statement.
Whitman offers clients a traditional multi-asset portfolio
management service, as well as a fund management division that is
led by Christopher Pease, manager of the Whitman UK Small Cap
Growth Fund. Alongside this, Whitman offers private clients an
AIM Inheritance Tax Portfolio Service, which was expanded last
month when the firm announced its purchase of a similar service
from Kestrel Partners.
ALFI
The
Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry has appointed
Miriam Henke as its new secretary general.
Henke will be responsible for running the internal organisation
and administration of ALFI. She will report directly to Camille
Thommes, director general.
Before joining ALFI, Henke was head of the company secretariat of
Aberdeen Standard Investments Luxembourg.
Prior to joining Aberdeen Standard Investments Luxembourg, Henke
worked for more than 13 years as head of the corporate office of
Clearstream Banking. In addition, she was temporarily head of the
corporate office of Eurex, concentrating on corporate governance
and corporate secretary matters within the financial sector in
Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland.
Fidelity International
Fidelity
International has hired Ashish Kochar as a fund manger. He
will arrive in September and will be based in London.
Kochar, who will be joining the global equity team, will become
portfolio manager of the Fidelity Funds – Global Focus
(Luxembourg-domiciled SICAV), alongside co-portfolio manager
Oliver Trimingham.
Prior to this, Kochar worked at Columbia Threadneedle. He has
more than 16 years’ investment experience of managing US, global
and absolute return products. Before his 13 plus years at
Columbia Threadneedle, he worked at hedge-fund manager, North
Sound Capital, and Merrill Lynch. Kochar holds an MBA from Mason
School of Business.
