Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Theta Capital, Bentley Reid

The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes among wealth management and related organisations in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and select international locations.

Theta Capital
Theta Capital, a European investor in blockchain venture capital, has hired Jeroen Tielman as head of institutional relations.

Tielman (pictured) has more than 35 years of experience in alternative asset management, including having founded and been CEO of IMQubator and the founder and CEO of FundPartners. He has also spent 14 years with ABN AMRO in roles including global head of product development.

At Theta, Tielman will be responsible for building relations with institutional investors globally. Theta manages over $1 billion in blockchain venture capital through its Theta Blockchain Ventures funds of funds programme. By partnering with top-tier specialised VC firms, Theta has supported many leading companies and protocols from their earliest stages.

Tielman, who has already been an investor in Theta’s BlockChain Ventures for some time, said that he is very familiar with "the extremely exciting investment opportunities that this space offers investors."

“It is a real pleasure to be re-united with Jeroen and to be able to work together with him again. He is joining us at a key inflection point for the space,” Ruud Smets, CIO, Theta Capital, said.

Bentley Reid
Bentley Reid, an employee-owned wealth manager, has appointed Matt Finch as director, wealth management, based in its London office. He will take over from Andy Hurst, director, Wealth Management, who is retiring after almost 30 years with the firm.

Previously, Finch worked for 7IM, where he was an associate director in the private clients team. He started his career at Unividual.

“We are thrilled to see further expansion of the senior team in 2025. Matt will provide experienced guidance to our clients and support them in reaching their financial goals, while ensuring the consistency of our bespoke services,” Peter Clark, CEO of Bentley Reid, said. “I would particularly like to take this opportunity to thank Andy for his huge contribution to Bentley Reid over many years with the business. The whole team wish him a very happy retirement.”

Founded in 1979, Bentley Reid is an independently-owned company that looks after the financial affairs of wealthy individuals, their families, trusts and charities. The business offers family office services, wealth planning, trust, investment management and investment advice from offices in the UK, Hong Kong and Malta.
