The latest moves and appointments in wealth management around the world.
Janus Henderson
London-based asset manager Janus Henderson has
appointed Patrick Sanderson as head of UK client group. Based in
London, he (pictured) will join the firm on 18 March and report
to Ignacio De La Maza, head of EMEA and LatAm client group.
In this newly-created role, Sanderson will lead the firm’s intermediary and institutional distribution efforts in the UK, as well as UK consultant relations. Sanderson will also be responsible for the overall direction and strategy of the UK business, the firm said in a statement.
Sanderson, will join from Ninety One where he was head of business development, UK, responsible for sales and client management within the institutional and wholesale teams in addition to consultant relations for the firm’s UK business. Prior to that he led the UK and Ireland sales and relationship management teams at Royal Bank of Canada. Before that, he worked at JP Morgan, Citibank and Deutsche Bank. Prior to entering the world of financial services, Sanderson played professional rugby and captained the England team between 2001 and 2005.
“His deep understanding of the UK market, extensive experience of leading large distribution teams and proven track record of driving customer-focused initiatives have consistently helped clients to navigate the evolving asset management landscape. His background in professional rugby brings a fresh perspective and a core set of invaluable skills: teamwork, operating in high-performance environments and delivering under pressure,” De La Maza said.
Sanderson’s appointment follows several recent senior hires to Janus Henderson’s distribution teams. In November 2022, it hired Michael Schweitzer to head up the North America client group.
