Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Farrer & Co, MKP Advisors

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Farrer & Co
UK-based law firm Farrer & Co has appointed Rhian Lewis as head of pro bono and counsel. She has joined from Hogan Lovells, where her practice focused on pro bono and international human rights law.

Lewis, who has specialised in advocating for effective remedies for victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, will be practising solely in a pro bono capacity, working with the firm’s responsible business partner and the board to create an overarching pro bono strategy, the firm said in a statement.

Throughout its long history, the firm said it has engaged in a wide range of social value and pro bono work, such as its pioneering work with safeguarding and child protection; its “market-leading” place-making work which helps to create vibrant and resilient communities; and its centuries of experience with philanthropy and charity law.

Lewis’ arrival coincides with the introduction of a new policy for Farrer & Co whereby chargeable hours targets will include an element of qualifying pro bono hours.

“Rhian’s arrival marks an evolution in our responsible business strategy and provides the opportunity to bring material positive change to individuals and communities in need, and to serve the firm’s purpose and commitment to tangible social value action,” Alexandra Hollingshead, responsible business partner at Farrer & Co, said.

MKP Advisors
Global advisory firm MKP Advisors has appointed Tony White as a key member of its leadership team. As a partner, he will be responsible for developing and expanding MKP’s global corporate advisory business.

White, who has more than 20 years of experience in investment and corporate banking, brings a wealth of expertise to MKP, the firm said in a statement.

He has advised many high-profile corporate clients for leading global investment banks. White’s understanding of the industry and his proven track record in providing strategic guidance make him an invaluable addition to the MKP team.

"Tony's appointment marks a major milestone in our continuing development and growth, reinforcing our commitment to delivering tangible value and mutually beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders in complex global situations,” Mark Kelly, chief executive officer of MKP said.

In keeping with MKP’s firm-wide goals, White will focus on narrowing the widening gap between corporates and their investors. The firm added that his role will help companies better understand the goals and perceptions of new and existing shareholders. He will also support boards and management teams to make decisions.

MKP Advisors specialise in analysing and making sense of complex global event-driven investment scenarios for both companies and investors. The firm says it aims to bridge the gap between listed corporations and shareholders, by offering “invaluable insights,” practical advice, and creating tangible value for its clients.
