Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – EFG Harris Allday, Leonteq, Others

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

EFG Harris Allday
EFG Harris Allday, has appointed two experienced client relationship officers, Anne Brookes and Clive Batchelor, and two portfolio managers, Gordon Campbell and Peter Meckiff (all in main picture â€“ see legend below).

Their appointments are part of EFG Harris Allday's commitment to growing its investment management business in the UK, based in the West Midlands, it said in a statement.

Birmingham-based client relationship officers Brookes and Batchelor, have joined from Brown Shipley, where they both served as directors in private banking for over 12 years. In their new roles, the new CROs will use their expertise and networks in the Greater Birmingham area. They will be supported by portfolio managers Campbell and Meckiff, who have extensive investment expertise.

Brookes and Batchelor will also work alongside Rupert Cecil, who joined the firm in late 2023 as head of charities and philanthropy.

“These new hires underscore our commitment to the future growth of EFG Harris and to continuing to deliver the high-quality service for which EFG Harris Allday is known in the UK marketplace,” Richard Killingbeck, managing director, said.

Leonteq
Swiss fintech, Leonteq AG has appointed Hans Widler as CFO and a member of the executive committee, subject to regulatory approval. He will be succeeding Antoine Boublil, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Widler, who joined Leonteq as head financial accounting in 2013, has been the group’s head financial management since 2015. He previously served in Switzerland and Singapore in finance managerial roles at Clariden Leu, Coutts & Co and in audit and advisory services at KPMG. Widler – a Swiss certified Chartered Public Accountant – holds a TRIUM executive MBA from NYU Stern New York, HEC Paris and LSE London.

“Hans is highly regarded, and we look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role. His experience and in-depth knowledge of the company position him well to help lead Leonteq through its next stage of development,” Lukas Ruflin, CEO of Leonteq, said.

Farrer & Co
Independent law firm Farrer & Co has made four promotions to partner effective from 1 May 2024.

The promotions will bring the total number of partners at the firm to 101, reflecting its continued focus on growth and delivering strong client outcomes.

The firm also announced that Graham Anderson, Blue Elliott, Hoi-Yee Roper (all covering dispute resolution), and Carole Howe (private client) will become senior counsel.
