International law firm Simmons &
Simmons has just announced that Emily Monastiriotis has been
elected to become the next managing
partner. Monastiriotis will take up the role from 1 May
2025, succeeding Jeremy Hoyland, who has held the position since
2011, the firm said in a statement.
Monastiriotis has served in several senior leadership roles, Currently she is international head of dispute resolution, and sits on the firm’s international executive committee. She made her name in the profession as a specialist in construction disputes and as a market-leading expert on fire safety cases.
Beyond her expertise in dispute resolution, Monastiriotis has spearheaded a number of initiatives at the firm to leverage technology to enhance legal practice, while embracing the firm’s development and adoption of artificial intelligence. She is also the partner lead for the firm’s mentoring scheme.
Chubb
Chubb, the
US-headquartered insurance group, has appointed Ana Robic,
division president of personal risk services for Chubb North
America, as regional president for Europe, Middle East and
Africa.
She succeeds David Furby, senior vice president, Chubb Group, who
has been named executive chairman of Europe, Middle East and
Africa. Robic will report to Paul McNamee, executive vice
president, Chubb Group and president, Chubb Overseas General
Insurance.
Lazard Asset Management
Lazard
Asset Management has appointed Bertrand Levavasseur as
managing director and head of Switzerland.
Levavasseur has more than 15 years' experience in asset
management business development. He joins from Oddo BHF Asset
Management, where he served as head of strategic accounts and new
markets. He led the development of strategic client
relationships, especially those in Switzerland and Italy, and
group strategic new market development, particularly in the
Middle East.
Before this, Levavasseur also held senior positions at Deutsche
Bank in Hong Kong and Philippe Investment Management in Paris. He
holds a master’s degree in business from European Business School
(EBS) and an INSEAD global management executive education.
Lazard Asset Management, a New York-based subsidiary of Lazard,
offers a range of equity, fixed income, and alternative
investment products. As of 30 January 2025, Lazard’s asset
management businesses managed about $233 billion of client
assets.
