Schroders has appointed Charles Prideaux as head of solutions, effective 2 October, the firm said in a statement.

Prideaux will report into Richard Mountford, global head of the product division. He will be responsible for Schroders' solutions business which delivers strategic advice, customisation and risk management to institutional and intermediary investors globally.

Prior to joining Schroders, he worked for BlackRock and its former companies since 1988, where his past roles included being head of institutional client business for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and most recently as head of active investments for EMEA.

This appointment follows a decision by John McLaughlin to retire from the asset management industry at the end of this year. The firm said: "We thank John for the tremendous contribution he has made to Schroders over the past 24 years."

JP Morgan Asset Management
JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has appointed John Adu as UK head of exchange-traded fund distribution and Tom Stephens as head of JP Morgan ETF international capital markets, the firm said in a statement.

Both Adu and Stephens will be based in London and will report to Byron Lake, who was appointed head of international ETFs in March this year.

In his role as UK head of ETF distribution, Adu will focus on building relationships with UK professional investors and delivering JPMAM’s ETF capabilities to clients. As head of JP Morgan’s ETF capital markets desk, Stephens will be responsible for leading the firm's capital markets group.

Adu joins from Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for cross-asset distribution of alternative, active and passive strategies to UK clients. Stephens joins from Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking (SGCIB) where he was head of ETF execution sales in Europe working with ETF clients, global ETF issuers and key internal stakeholders.
