Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Raymond James, STEP

The latest senior moves in wealth and asset management from across Europe and the UK.

Raymond James
Raymond James is opening a new branch in London’s Ropemaker Place led by new branch principal Simon Monk, who has joined the group from Brown Shipley.

The new branch, which will provide discretionary investment services to clients across the UK, from private individuals to charities, will include advice on pensions planning, estate and inheritance tax planning, family protection and lifetime cashflow planning, the group said.

While the new branch will cover the entire UK, it will be weighted to larger client segments in the Hampshire, Lincolnshire, and Cambridgeshire areas, it added.

Joining the US-owned franchise, Monk said: “After almost three decades in this field, I am ready to place my own stamp on the wealth management industry, and plan to do just that with the launch of Raymond James, Ropemaker Place.”

STEP
Nancy Golding QC TEP, a partner at Borden Ladner Gervais in Calgary, Canada, has been elected as worldwide chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, aka STEP, with effect from 1 January 2021.

Golding will take over from Simon Morgan TEP, who has served two terms in the role. Golding, who has practised law in Calgary for more than 35 years, is a tax partner in BLG’s Calgary office, as well as the national and regional leader of the private client group. She works exclusively in estate and tax planning, estates and fiduciary litigation and mediation of trust and estate disputes. She has also been a STEP member for more than 20 years.
