The latest moves in wealth management across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Neptune Investment Management 
Neptune Investment Management has appointed Theodora Zemek to the newly-created role of head of fixed income strategy.

Zemek will lead Neptune’s fixed income strategy and research globally, reporting to chief executive, Robin Geffen, and working closely with James Dowey, Neptune’s chief economist and chief investment officer.

She was previously global head of fixed income at AXA Investment Managers. She is a non-executive director of BlackRock Global Investors UK and a council member of Goldsmiths University.

Majedie Asset Management
UK-based Majedie Asset Management, the independent investment boutique, has appointed Mark Wharrier and Imran Sattar as fund managers of its UK equities team. Also, after ten years with the firm, Chris Reid, who currently manages the Majedie UK Income Fund and is one of four co-managers of the Majedie UK Focus Fund, will leave at the end of June to pursue a Masters in Finance degree.

In his new role, Wharrier will manage the Majedie UK Income Fund, alongside existing co-manager Yuri Khodjamirian and fund analysts Mike Totton and Emily Barnard. Sattar will co-manage the Majedie UK Focus Fund, alongside existing managers James de Uphaugh, Chris Field and Matthew Smith.

Wharrier was a managing director at BlackRock until 2017, before leaving to join Troy Asset Management. Sattar joins Majedie from BlackRock, where he was a managing director and UK equity fund manager within its alpha strategies group.

Jupiter
Asset management firm Jupiter has appointed Harry Richards and Adam Darling as co-managers of the Jupiter Corporate Bond Fund. Richards and Darling take over from Rhys Petheram, who will move to a dedicated multi-asset role.

Richards joined Jupiter in 2011 from university and has been a member of the fixed income team since January 2013. In April 2016, he was appointed assistant fund manager to Ariel Bezalel.

Darling joined Jupiter in 2015 and is a credit analyst in Jupiter’s fixed income team. Prior to joining Jupiter, he worked at Barclays with a focus on natural resource investments and has also held roles at Société Generale and Morgan Stanley.

They continue to report into Ariel Bezalel, head of strategy, fixed income.

Petheram, who joined Jupiter in 2006, will remain co-manager of two existing multi-asset portfolios. He will work with Talib Sheikh, who joins Jupiter in June as head of strategy, multi-asset to develop its products for its clients.

Woodbrook Group
Cyprus-based wealth manager Woodbrook Group has appointed Andrew Heath as country manager for Spain.

Heath will be based in the firm’s offices in Marbella, where the company offers expertise on expat business and personal financial advice in the region.

He has 16 years’ experience in the wealth management sector.

Stonehage Fleming
Stonehage Fleming has appointed David Maxwell as partner and head of UK risk and compliance.

He will be responsible for advising the firm on all aspects of risk and compliance within the UK.  His will report to Anton Sternberg, chief executive of the Stonehage Fleming investments division and Ian Crosby, group head of corporate risk and law.

Maxwell joins Stonehage Fleming following 11 years in compliance with the private banking arms of HSBC and Standard Chartered.
