Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Investec Wealth & Investment, Schroders
The latest senior moves in wealth management from across the UK and Europe.
Investec Wealth & Investment
UK wealth manager Investec
Wealth & Investment has appointed Alex Barrell as divisional
director at new offices planned for Bristol's Temple Quay in
January 2020. The group has decided to move its Bath operations
as part of a broader regional expansion that includes tapping
into Bristol's vibrant business culture. Barrell previously
headed the Bristol office for Brewin Dolphin and will lead a team
of 22 that will also cover clients in the Bath area. The full
Bath advisory team will be moving to the new premises, the firm
said.
The move is “a logical next step, as we seek to extend our offering in the South West,” Barrell said. The wealth manager has 15 offices across the UK, including in Exeter and Bournemouth in the South West. It manages around £38 billion in client funds.
Schroders
Sarah Cockburn is joining Schroders as head of
Schroder Real Estate Capital Partners, where she will oversee the
£4 billion indirect real estate business and join the group’s
indirect investment committee. She takes up the post on 6 January
and will report to Nick Montgomery, head of UK real estate
investment.
Cockburn has spent the last 12 years at Kames Capital and PGIM. Most recently, she was PGIM executive director and member of the global management committee. At Kames, she built the sustainable investment firm’s indirect property team and managed several property funds. Her 20-year career also spans time at Goodman and Aviva.
BennBridge
Specialising in fund manager partnerships, boutique investment
firm BennBridge has
hired six senior executives to join its newly minted emerging
markets business at Skerryvore Asset Management. BennBridge
partnered with Skerryvore in October, and most of the new team
will move from Janus Henderson.
Stephen Deane, Nicholas Cowley, Ian Tabberer, Michael Cahoon and Ronan Kelleher join Skerryvore as portfolio managers, and Ben Lawson joins as head of dealing.
The London and New York-based BennBridge is a subsidiary of Bennelong Funds Management Group (BFM Group), the Australian investment house which provides a variety of investment solutions globally and manages assets of around $8 billion (£6.5 billion) through a network of subsidiaries - standing at 11 boutique firms currently.
Glen Finegan, managing partner at Skerryvore, said of the new emerging markets team: “I have worked with all six of them in the past, and they share a dedicated investment focus and knowledge”.
