Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Generali, Aviva Investors, Others

The latest moves in wealth management across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Generali
Generali Global Corporate & Commercial, part of the Italian insurance group, has appointed Cecilia Chang as head of financial lines, transferring from Hong Kong where she had been previously based. She leads this segment at the global level, reporting to Alan Moore, chief underwriting officer and head of UK general global corporate and commercial business.

Previously, Wong was regional head of financial lines and underwriting, Generali Global Corporate & Commercial Asia. She has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance sector.

Cecilia began as a corporate lawyer for a Chicago based carrier and moved on to hold leadership positions in underwriting at multinational carriers in the USA and Asia.

Aviva Investors
Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva, has appointed Daniel McHugh as head of UK real estate and Melanie Collett as head of real estate asset management.
 
Based in London, McHugh reports to Ed Casal, chief executive of Aviva Investors real estate. He is responsible for all direct real estate activity in the UK; leading the firm’s specialist fund management, asset management and transaction teams.
 
McHugh has more than 20 years’ experience in UK and continental European real estate investment. Most recently, he held the role of head of continental European real estate investment at Standard Life Investments.
 
Also based in London, Collett will report to McHugh. She will be responsible for the firm’s sector-focused asset management teams, development management and project management capabilities.
 
Collett has over 20 years’ experience in real estate debt and equity. Prior to joining Aviva Investors, she was head of asset management at Round Hill Capital.

Jupiter
Asset management firm Jupiter has appointed Darren Starr as a fund manager in its liquid alternatives business.

Starr has dual US and UK citizenship, and over 10 years’ experience managing US equity long-short portfolios across roles at UBS, SAC Global Investors and Caxton.

In his new role, he will work closely with the other members of Jupiter’s absolute return team, including James Clunie and Mike Buhl-Nielsen.

Subject to regulatory approvals, Jupiter plans to launch a UCITS-compliant US equity long/ short fund, to be managed by Starr, later this year.
