Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Capricorn Private Investments, UBS WM

The latest moves in wealth management across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Capricorn Private Investments
Capricorn Private Investments (CPI), the subsidiary of global alternative asset manager Capricorn Group, has appointed Manoj Soni as chief investment officer.

Manoj was formerly managing director, and head of absolute return and credit at Partners Capital. 

He will be responsible for the investment strategy of the firm, and will focus on diversified long-term investments, portfolio management strategies and its own co-investment opportunities.

Capricorn is a family-owned global alternative asset manager. The business was established in South Africa in 2003 and in the UK in 2008.

UBS Wealth Management
UBS Wealth Management has appointed Heinrich Baer as head of Luxembourg, effective 1 October. 

In this role, Baer will report directly to Christine Novakovic, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa, and will become a member of the WM EMEA management committee. 

He will also act as the country head UBS Luxembourg and have an additional reporting line to Ulrich Körner, president of UBS EMEA and to Thomas Rodermann, in his role as spokesperson of the management board UBS Europe SE. 

Baer was most recently as head of affluent and international markets WM EMEA. He will relocate to Luxembourg on 1 August.

Also, René Mottas will return to UBS in Switzerland after almost 7 years in the Benelux region as country head UBS Luxembourg, market head wealth management Benelux/Luxembourg and, for the last two years, as a member of the UBS Europe SE management board. 

Sanne
Sanne, the Jersey-headquartered provider of trust and fund administration services which recently named a new chief financial officer, has named Jonathan Ferrara as its new managing director for client services business in Jersey.

Based from Jersey, Ferrara will help the group's speicalist businesses, working with country and regional MDs.

Prior to this role, Ferrara worked in financial services roles in Jersey, Switzerland and the UK, most recently UBS and Bank of America. He is a Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years' experience in the professional financial services industry.
