Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Brewin Dolphin, GPP

The latest moves in wealth management across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Brewin Dolphin
Brewin Dolphin has recruited financial planner Scott Heslin to join its office in Cambridge, UK.

Prior to this, Heslin was a financial planner at Tilney in Cambridge, where he managed clients in East Anglia with a strong focus on Norfolk. Before repatriating to the UK, his overseas experience was with HSBC Expat as an international wealth manager in the United Arab Emirates and in the Channel Islands, where he managed high net worth client relationships across numerous jurisdictions. He has more than 10 years’ experience as a financial planner.

Heslin will work with Heather Sonnet in the head of office to expand Brewin Dolphin’s reach across Cambridgeshire. The Cambridge office is one of 30 offices in Brewin Dolphin’s network across the UK, Jersey and Dublin.

GPP
GPP, the custody, clearing and wealth solutions firm, has appointed Richard Shiel to its wealth solutions business, where he will take the position of sales and account manager.

Shiel joins from the custody and clearing sales team at Platform Securities, part of the FIS Group. In his new role at GPP he will support Tom Wooders, head of sales, clearing and wealth solutions, to on-board new clients onto the company’s wealth management platform. Shiel will promote GPP’s broader Wealth Solutions business to wealth managers, discretionary investment managers and IFAs.

The firm launched its wealth platform in 2017, describing it as “a streamlined offering which avoids the challenges associated with legacy infrastructure and third-party technology providers”. The platform is powered by GBO, GPP’s proprietary back-office technology.

Foster Denovo
Foster Denovo, the UK advisory firm, has appointed Richard Horton as finance director on a permanent basis, following his interim appointment in February this year.

Since Horton joined the group he has worked with chief executive Roger Brosch and head of corporate development, Henna Fry, to implement the firm’s ambitious development plans. Horton is a chartered accountant whose previous roles include group finance director at financial advice firm LEBC Group Limited, and insurance intermediary Hyperion Insurance Group

Foster Denovo acquired TEBC Ltd, a Buckinghamshire based employee benefits consultancy last year and expects to complete a number of further deals in the first quarter of 2019.
