Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Aberdeen Standard Investments, Baker & Partners

The latest moves in wealth management across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Aberdeen Standard Investments
Aberdeen Standard Investments has appointed Jeremy Browne as international business ambassador of Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Americas, effective September.

He will report directly to John Campbell, global head of strategic clients, and will help to develop further ASI’s relationship with its strategic clients.

Browne most recently held the positon of City of London’s special representative to the European Union. His previous roles have included Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Minister of State, Home Office. 

Baker & Partners
Jersey-based litigation and dispute resolution law firm Baker & Partners has appointed James Corbett as senior counsel.

Joining from the London office of international disputes and investigations law firm Kobre & Kim, Corbett has experience in international trusts, insolvency and commercial disputes in nearly every major offshore jurisdiction around the world. Earlier in his career, he served as the managing partner of Kobre & Kim’s Cayman office from 2012 to 2014.

He has experience on cross-border litigation in English and Commonwealth courts, with an emphasis on disputes in the financial services as well as those related to insolvency.

GAM Investments
GAM Investments has hired Markus Heider as investment manager to join its emerging markets fixed income team, based in London. He will report to Paul McNamara. The team manages $11.0 billion (as at 31 March 2018).

Heider joins from Deutsche Bank in London, where he was global head of inflation research. He began his career at Deutsche Bank in 2000, before moving into various inflation and interest rate strategy roles.
Heider holds a PhD and a Diplôme d'études approfondies (DEA) in economics from the University of Bordeaux and a diploma in economics from the University of Cologne. He is also the author of Inflation Markets: A Comprehensive and Cohesive Guide, published by Risk Books.
