Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Bailard, Kickstand, LPL, Others

The latest senior moves in the North America wealth management market.
Bailard, a US wealth
and investment firm in San Francisco Bay Area, has appointed
Janet Walker, a figure with 22 years in the sector.
Walker will develop and implement investment strategies for
clients across Bailard, including multi-generational ultra-high
net worth clients.
Before joining this firm, Walker worked at Wells Fargo, most
recently in the San Francisco office of Abbot Downing, Wells
Fargo’s business catering to UHNW individuals (since re-named).
In this role, she was managing director and senior portfolio
manager. (In March Wells Fargo rebranded its Abbot Downing
business to move under the Wells Fargo Private Bank brand.)
“Bailard’s leadership, award-winning woman-led culture, and
dedication to its clients stood out,” Walker said.
While at Wells Fargo, Walker led the Wealth & Investment
Management Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Council
initiative for employee development. She has worked in areas such
as financial literacy and investment education with the Wall
Street Wizards Academy and served on the board of directors for
the Piedmont East Bay Children’s choir. In addition, she has
mentored and advised a globally diverse group of students from
the University of the Pacific Eberhardt School of Business on
equity investing and global markets.
Walker earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology with a
minor in chemistry from San Francisco State University. She is a
CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA
Society of San Francisco.
Bailard oversees almost $5 billion of assets under management, as
of the end of March.
Whitlock, Ameriprise
Whitlock
Wealth Management, the Virginia-based firm that is a part of
Ameriprise
Financial Services, has appointed Stephanie Martin and Olivia
Blackman.
Martin, who is joinng as client service specialist, holds a
bachelor of arts degree in sociology with a social work
concentration from Roanoke College.
Blackman, who is joining the team as operations manager, has over
20 years of experience in the banking and client service industry
as a relationship manager.
Ameriprise Financial has a network of approximately 10,000
financial advisors.
Kickstand, TruClarity
Kickstand
Wealth Advisors, based in Pittsford, New York, has launched
its wealth management practice with the support of TruClarity
Wealth Advisors' RIA platform.
Chad W Goodchild and Jacob W Schlicht will lead the firm as
managing partners with more than 30 years of combined industry
experience. Goodchild and Schlicht will work with Devyn A
Squires, wealth planner and Christine D Fusare, director of
client services. Before creating Kickstand, they managed a
combined $441 million in client assets at Merrill Lynch.

Wealth Advisors assists advisors with going independent,
offering a variety of solutions for the transition process.
NewEdge Wealth
NewEdge
Wealth a registered investment adviser specializing in
ultra-high net worth, family office and institutional clients,
has appointed Glen Mintz as managing director, portfolio
manager.
Mintz will also be responsible for spearheading NewEdge Wealth’s
expansion to Park City, Utah, slated to open this summer. Until
the Park City office is established, he and his team will be
operating from the Pittsburgh office.
Mintz has more than 30 years of experience in the financial
services industry and specializes in managing equity portfolios.
Prior to joining NewEdge Wealth, Mintz served in various
portfolio management and financial services leadership roles for
the last three decades.
The firm, an RIA, was established in 2020 in partnership with
EdgeCo Holdings to lead the wealth management division. NewEdge
Wealth currently has $26 billion assets under advisement. It was
established via a partnership between EdgeCo and a four-person
wealth management team comprising Jeffrey Kobernick, Robert
Sechan, Walter Granruth and John Straus, Jr.
LPL Financial
LPL Financial,
the New York-listed group, announced this week that financial
advisor Joseph F Myer has joined its broker-dealer, corporate
registered investment advisor and custodial platforms. He is
aligned with Gladstone Wealth Partners, an enterprise supporting
LPL-affiliated advisors. Myer reported having served
approximately $250 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement
plan assets, and joins LPL from Merrill Lynch.
After spending the first two decades of his career at Wall Street
firms, Myer chose to move to LPL and Gladstone to launch his new
independent practice, Veritas Capital Management.
