Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Rathbones, Charles Russell Speechlys, Others

The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, other parts of Europe, the Middle east and select international locations.

Rathbones Group
Rathbones, a UK provider of investment management services, has appointed Jemima Gregson to join the sales team as an investment sales consultant for the west of England, reporting to Victoria Wellings, head of the sales desk.

At Rathbones, Gregson will be responsible for building new relationships and supporting existing advisor clients across the west of England, including Bristol, Bath, Birmingham, South Wales, Cornwall and Devon. She will work alongside Ben Johnson, head of regional sales.

Gregson is joining from Jupiter Asset Management where she was a sales support executive with responsibility for assisting the directors in all aspects of their work and in running client events. 

Welcoming her to the firm, Wellings said: “She has developed considerable experience in supporting a growing sales team and, crucially, in working with clients to ensure we bring them the most relevant opportunities.”

In May 2022, Matt Honour also joined Rathbones as a DFM specialist covering the west region.

Rathbones manages £58.9 billion ($72 billion) of assets.

Charles Russell Speechlys
International law firm Charles Russell Speechlys has appointed Nicola Saccardo as a partner within the firm’s private client team in London, to help expand its international reach.

Saccordo has joined the firm from the London office of Maisto, an Italian law firm specialising in tax. He is an Italian tax specialist with over 20 years’ experience, advising clients on cross-border tax and estate planning matters, the firm said in a statement. Much of his work is centred around the relocation of HNW individuals to Italy and the taxation of trusts.

Saccordo is renowned for his understanding of international and EU tax law and his ability to navigate the associated tax and regulatory frameworks. His expertise in Italian tax law will be instrumental in increasing the firm’s international reach, the firm added.

He is the chair of the tax committee of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law, a member of the International Estate Planning Committee of ACTEC and chair of the International Client Special Interest Group of STEP, the firm said.

Welcoming him to the firm, Simon Ridpath, managing partner at Charles Russell Speechlys, said: “The addition of an Italian tax offering will significantly bolster our portfolio of tax services as we continue to expand our international private capital focus and support high net worth global families looking to relocate to Italy with ease and confidence.”

Artorius Wealth
Artorius Wealth has strengthened its client team with the appointments of James Goddard, Helena Pratt and Max Di Lieto.

Goddard, who has nearly two decades of experience in wealth management across Citi, Barclays and UBS, has spent the last five years specialising in partnering with business owners and entrepreneurs, the firm said in a statement.

Pratt, who has five years of experience at UBS, started her career at Rathbones. Max Di Lieto also has five years’ experience, starting at UBS as an apprentice and working his way up the ladder, supporting clients, the firm added.

Welcoming them to the company, CEO, Paddy Lewis said: “Their combined experience and genuinely client-centric approach is an asset for the firm and will be instrumental as we continue to grow.”

Based in Manchester, with £1.5 billion ($1.84 billion) in assets, Artorius provides wealth planning and investment advice for financial services professionals, UK business owners and entrepreneurs, private equity professionals and individuals inheriting wealth.

Ocorian
Ocorian, a specialist in fund administration, capital markets, corporate and fiduciary services, has appointed Alice Miller as head of transformation as the firm continues to grow its business.

Based in London, she will be responsible for leading a global transformation programme at the group, designed to deliver increased business value for Ocorian and its investors. She will report to chief operating officer Carole Murphy.

Miller's focus will be to deliver a change management programme across Ocorian to support its global workforce by providing enhanced value for clients, investors and employees.

During her 20-plus year career, she has served in a series of senior roles, most recently at Capgemini where she worked in operational excellence, post-acquisition integration, sales and business change. Previously, she worked at NGA HR and HSBC.

Welcoming her to the firm, Murphy said: “I am confident she will play a key role in ensuring we meet our transformation commitments which will make it easier for Ocorian to continue to deliver value for our clients.”

Ocorian, which has $260 billion of assets under administration, specialises in corporate and fiduciary services, fund administration and capital markets.

TrustQuay
TrustQuay, a technology provider to the corporate services, trust and alternative fund administration markets, has appointed Lawrence Nash as programme director. 

Nash is joining TrustQuay from LGL Group where he was head of change and transformation. Prior to this, he was programme director heading up strategic projects at Ocorian, and was also the financial controller at Sanne. Nash is responsible for helping TrustQuay customers to maximise the value delivered by their TrustQuay software, by improving system usage, adopting new features and increasing customer satisfaction.
