Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Pictet, Sionic, Evelyn Partners, Others

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

The independent unit within Geneva-headquarered Pictet, Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA), has appointed former Cambridge Associates senior figure Trudi Usher Boardman as head of hedge funds.

Usher Boardman will lead PAA’s team of 12 investment professionals and hedge fund experts managing €7 billion ($7.52 billion) of assets in single and multi-manager hedge fund strategies. Based in Geneva, Usher Boardman will report to Elif Aktu?, managing partner at Pictet and chief executive officer of PAA.

“Trudi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to lead our team of senior investment professionals in the multi manager hedge fund team at PAA, as well as to institutionalise and grow the franchise further,” Aktu? said.

At Cambridge Associates, Usher Boardman was previously responsible for discretionary and non-discretionary client portfolio relationships and acted as CIO and specialist investment director across hedge funds, private credit, and total portfolios. Prior to this role, she worked as a senior research analyst and portfolio manager at Partners Advisers and at Morgan Stanley, where she covered global hedge fund clients and European institutional investors.

Sionic, part of UK-headquartered Davies – an international professional services and technology company – has appointed Richard Dodds as a partner in its asset and wealth management practice.

Dodds will use his expertise to guide clients on their technology and data transformation and operational challenges. Dodds will report to managing partner, Ashley Sheen.

“Having worked on the other side of the table from Sionic on many large deals over the years, I know the team well and respect their industry knowledge, expertise and broad client base,” Dodds said.

Dodds has more than 25 years of operational and change management experience within the industry. He joins from State Street where he was senior vice president for the last five years, responsible for new deal revenues. He was also instrumental in shaping the firm’s asset and wealth management outsourced solutions.

BC Partners, a private equity firm, agreed in March 2021 to take a majority stake in Davies and support its international growth and technological development.

In this new role, Kaliszewski will lead a team supporting clients in their sustainable investing goals, leveraging the resources of Natixis IM and its investment managers’ expertise. She reports to Fabrice Chemouny, head of international distribution, and David Giunta, chief executive for the US.

“The global landscape for responsible, sustainable and impact investing is evolving rapidly, and Laura will be an excellent resource for our clients as they navigate this complex and ever-changing environment,” Chemouny said.

Kaliszewski joined Natixis IM in 2020 and served as head of sustainable investment solutions. She has more than 15 years of experience in sustainable and impact investing, portfolio management, credit, and risk with firms including Moody’s, BlueOrchard, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan, as well as within international development organizations such as the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.
