Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Oakglen Wealth, IW Capital

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Independent investment manager, Oakglen Wealth (formerly known as Oakbridge Wealth), has appointed Richard Firth as a consultant and Michael Clarke as investment director.

Firth, based in the UK, is a seasoned financial services professional with a three-decade career. Firth's experience includes executive positions at Quilter Cheviot, Cazenove, and Greig Middleton. He is a chartered wealth manager and chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). Prior to joining Oakglen Wealth, Firth served as an executive director and senior investment manager at Quilter Cheviot Ltd.

Based in Jersey, Clarke will offer support and guidance to private clients, family offices, and trust companies. Clarke has more than 35 years of industry experience, having held senior wealth management positions at HSBC and UBS. He is an associate of the London Institute of Banking & Finance and a member and securities representative of the CISI. Clarke's most recent position was executive director and head of private clients at UBS Wealth Management Jersey.

“Their extensive industry knowledge and impressive track records will be invaluable as we continue to expand our wealth management services and offer clients the highest level of expertise,” Dominic Tayler, managing director (UK), said.

Oakglen Wealth, which is part of the Oakglen Group, launched its UK business in April 2023. The firm is marking a significant step in expanding its presence in the investment management and wealth advisory sector. The group is responsible for assets exceeding £1 billion ($1.22 billion).

IW Capital
Investment house, IW Capital, which has to date invested over £140 million ($170.9 million) of growth capital in support of UK small- and medium-sized enterprises, has appointed David Fisher as senior investment director.

Fisher’s appointment is another milestone in IW Capital’s growth as it continues backing businesses and partnering with founders and their teams, the firm said in a statement.

Fisher, who has more than 20 years of experience in venture and growth investing, was formerly at Sussex Place Ventures and spent 12 years at Edge Investments prior to that. Before joining Edge, Fisher spent 10 years at two other fund managers including Elderstreet Investments, which is now part of Molten Ventures. He also worked at M&A Advisory and strategy consulting at Deloitte and KPMG.

“The expansion of our team comes at an exciting time for IW Capital as we continue to grow our portfolio of growth capital investments and deliver exits from our existing portfolio. We are engaged investors, providing not only financial support but also strategic guidance, to fuel expansion and create long-term value,” Alan Armstrong, head of investment at IW Capital, said.
