Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Chetwood Financial, Alpha FMC, Crestbridge

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Chetwood Financial
Digital bank Chetwood Financial, based in Wrexham, Wales, has named Julian Hynd as its new chief operating officer.

Hynd will have executive responsibility for bringing Chetwood Financial’s strategy to life through the company’s technology, operations, and people, the firm said in a statement.

With more than 30 years’ experience in financial services, Hynd has a record of building, growing, and transforming businesses.

Most recently, Hynd led the operational and digital transformation at Shawbrook Bank, and the commercial transformation at Redwood Bank.

He has worked for several recognised brands, including First Rand, Siemens Southern Africa, National Savings & Investments, and Ford Credit Europe, where he led the development of Ford Money, a UK online savings bank. Hynd also worked for Volkswagen Financial Services, where he led the building of its UK online savings bank.

“He joins at a dynamic time for Chetwood, with exciting projects in the pipeline for the coming year, not least the launch of ModaMortgages,” Chetwood’s founder and CEO, Andy Mielczarek, said.

The ModaMortgages business is a specialist, broker-only buy-to-let (BTL) mortgage lender, on top of Chetwood’s consumer savings products. Hynd will help bring the ModaMortgages proposition to market later this year.

Alpha FMC
UK-headquartered Alpha Financial Markets Consulting, a global consultancy in the financial services industry, this week appointed Scott Lee as an executive director in its UK wealth management and private banking team.

Lee was most recently managing partner at Sionic (Davies Consulting) for the wealth management and private banking sector, where he led the development and growth of the business across the UK, Switzerland, Jersey and Luxembourg, the firm said in a statement.

Previously, Lee worked across asset and wealth management, banking, life and pensions, savings and investments and technology both as a consultant and a business leader. He has worked at KPMG, Citibank, Aegon and Aviva advising, delivering transformational change and operational excellence to a wide range of businesses.

“For too long the market has been seeking consulting partners with the right expertise and scale, and has been left disappointed. Alpha provides this and I am looking forward to accelerating Alpha’s growth across the wealth management industry,” Lee said.

Crestbridge Family Office Services
Jersey-based Crestbridge Family Office Services this week announced four senior promotions in Jersey.

In the client accounting team, Elliott Carlow has been promoted to senior manager, and within the administration function, Gavin Byrne has been promoted to manager and Charlie Lucas and Marta Latek have also been recognised, the firm said in a statement.

Starting from 1 January 2024, the promotions recognise the achievements and contribution of these team members to the business. “Investing in and supporting the development of our people is central to our future success and growth, particularly as we continue our journey as an independent and privately owned business," Heather Tibbo, chief executive at Crestbridge Family Office Services, said.
