What's New In Investments, Funds? - Hermes IM, Newton IM, Others

The latest in funds and investments across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Newton Investment Management
Newton Investment Management has launched the Newton Sustainable Sterling Bond Fund, for institutional and retail investors, including charity clients.

The Newton Sustainable Sterling Bond Fund is co-managed by Howard Cunningham and Scott Freedman. It is the third sustainable fund to be launched this year, following the launch of the Newton Sustainable Real Return Fund in April 2018, and the Newton Sustainable Global Equity Fund in January 2018.

It will look to achieve capital growth and income through investment predominantly in fixed interest securities that are denominated in Sterling or hedged back to Sterling.  The fund aims to achieve its objective through investing in government and public securities and fixed interest securities of companies that demonstrate attractive investment attributes and sustainable business practices.

More than 35 per cent of assets may be invested in gilts. The fund may invest up to 50 per cent of assets in sub-investment grade fixed income securities.

The Newton Sustainable Sterling Bond Fund is part of the BNY Mellon Investment Funds range. It is registered for distribution in the UK.

Hermes Investment Management
Hermes Investment Management has launched the Hermes European Direct Lending Fund.

The fund will be managed by Patrick Marshall, head of private debt and CLOs.

It will look to make returns from senior-secured loans from a range of middle-market businesses in the UK and Europe, with a focus on Scandinavia, Germany, Benelux and Ireland.

Wells Fargo Asset Management
Wells Fargo Asset Management has launched the Global Equity Absolute Return Fund, a sub-fund of the Wells Fargo (Lux) Worldwide Fund.

The fund is UCITS compliant and available to both institutional and retail investors.

The Global Equity Absolute Return Fund aims to achieve long-term capital appreciation and an absolute, or positive, return regardless of market conditions. The fund is sub-advised by Analytic Investors, and managed by Harindra de Silva, Dennis Bein, and David Krider.
