Westpac Private Bank Names General Manager

Westpac Private Bank has appointed Jane Watts as its new general manager.

Watts spent the last eight years at Macquarie Wealth Management, where she was most recently the head. Prior to that, she held executive roles at Lend Lease/MCL and Westpac. She takes over from Jan Swinhoe, who is leaving to pursue private interests, and officially assumes her new position at the start of December.

Westpac Private Bank provides investment and banking services for high net worth individuals, with operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. Its wealth management services are offered through its BT Financial Group subsidiary.

The appointment of Watts was announced just about the same time the firm chose Standard & Poor's Fund Services to provide research and investment consulting services to Westpac Financial Planning and Magnitude Financial Planning, replacing van Eyk. The deal involves the provision of research services to over 1,600 advisors under the BTFG network.
