Washington-Based Private Bank Names New Chief

Charter Private Bank, based in Washington state, has named Marty Steele as its new president and chief executive, effective immediately.

Steele was latterly the bank’s chief lending officer where he was responsible for increasing commercial lending and broadening the bank’s presence in the community.

Steele, who has over 30 years of banking, management and lending experience, has also worked at Commerce Bank, Windswept Capital and at Bank of America’s private banking group.

Steele replaces James Garvey who was recently appointed president and CEO of Borel Private Bank & Trust Company based in Northern California.

Charter Private Bank is a private bank for privately-held businesses and professionals located throughout Greater King County with offices in the towns of Bellevue, Redmond, Kent, and in downtown Seattle.
