Veritas Asset Management Hires Newton Veteran

Veritas Asset Management, the UK-based investment manager, has appointed Ross Ciesla as senior private client director of its private client business in the UK.

Ciesla will join Veritas later in the year from Newton Investment Management, where he had worked since 1998, latterly as a portfolio manager in the firm’s private investment management department. His particular expertise lies in global equity and fixed interest stocks across institutional, private unit trust, onshore pensions and private client and trust portfolios, Veritas said in a statement.

“His appointment coincides with and complements our ambition to further develop the UK private client business in a controlled and respectful manner and we believe he will be a fantastic addition to the team,” said Stewart Newton, chairman and founding partner of the Real Return Group, Veritas’ holding company.

Veritas’ private client business currently has £620 million ($927 million) in assets under management.
