Vanguard Opens Dublin SICAV Funds

Vanguard, the US-based fund specialist, has launched six Dublin-domiciled SICAVS. The funds, launched alongside five UK onshore OEICs, include one fund that tracks Japan’s stock index; a Pacific ex-Japan tracker; an emerging markets index fund; two UK bond index trackers, and a global bond index fund.

The Pennsylvania-headquartered fund manager will charge between 0.15 per cent - for its onshore UK equities fund - and 0.55 per cent for its emerging market equities fund.

"We believe that our launch in the UK will build on the success we have achieved in the US, and we look forward to working with several platforms in order to attain this,” said Tom Rampulla, managing director of Vanguard Investments UK.

“We do not pay for distribution, and are committed to making Vanguard’s funds available to UK investors in ways which do not erode returns through high and unnecessary charges. Costs matter, as each pound of cost is a pound taken out of your investment,” Mr Rampulla added.

Vanguard manages more than $1.1 trillion in assets and serves more than 23 million individual and institutional accounts worldwide. The firm offers more than 150 funds and ETFs to US investors and more than 50 additional funds in non-US markets.
