Vanguard Bolsters Range Of Exchange-Traded Funds

The UK-based asset manager's new ETFs will offer exposure to corporate bonds and treasuries.

Vanguard has launched four fixed income exchange-traded funds on the London Stock Exchange.

The ETFs will offer regional exposure to US and European corporate bonds, US Treasuries and euro-denominated debt issued by eurozone-based governments. The funds are Vanguard USD Corporate Bond UCITS ETF, Vanguard EUR Corporate Bond UCITS ETF, Vanguard EUR Eurozone Government Bond UCITS ETF and Vanguard USD Treasury Bond UCITS ETF. All will carry an ongoing charge of 0.12 per cent.

“They will enable investors to build a broadly diversified fixed income and equity portfolio at a low-cost. As one of the world’s largest fixed income managers with approximately $900 billion in assets globally, Vanguard has a strong track record for managing high-quality, low-cost fixed income funds,” said Ken Volpert, head of investments for Vanguard in Europe.

Vanguard offers 21 ETFs in the UK and has over $100 billion in assets under management across its European mutual fund and ETF range.

As of the end of 2015, Vanguard's fixed income group manages approximately $280 billion in actively managed bond funds, $462 billion in index bond funds and ETFs, and $180 billion in money market funds.
