University of Toronto Unveils Programme Focused On Family Wealth Management

The University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management has rolled out a new programme in family wealth management, set to take place from 23-26 October, 2014.
The University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management has
rolled out a new programme in family wealth management, set to
take place from 23-26 October, 2014.
The programme is led by the Rotman School's faculty including
Professor Eric Kirzner, who teaches investment finance; Tom
McCullough, an adjunct professor and chairman and chief executive
at Northwood
Family Office; and Michael Lagopoulos, former CEO of RBC
International Wealth Management and deputy chairman of RBC Wealth
Management.
Participants will learn the “key building blocks and frameworks”
for successful wealth management, as well as how to create an
integrated wealth management strategy and how to avoid common
mistakes.
Topics will include: investment planning; portfolio management;
security selection; types of family capital; tax and estate
planning; insurance, wills and trusts; integrated financial
management; family governance; risk management; selection of
investment firms and advisors; and strategies for preserving
wealth.
Participating in the programme costs $6,500.
"This programme is ideal for families, with a net worth of at
least $10 million, who have built wealth in this generation, have
inherited family wealth, or are contemplating or have recently
experienced a liquidity event," the university says on its
website.
