United Capital Financial Advisers Unveils Interactive Recruiting Tool

Newport Beach, CA-headquartered United Capital Financial Advisers has launched “Honest Conversations for Advisers” - an interactive tool to help current and prospective advisors confidentially determine what type of career opportunity within the industry is best for them.
Honest Conversations for Advisers follows the launch of United Capital's “Honest Conversations,” an interactive exercise that encourages advisors and investors to make financial decisions based on how the client relates to money.
The latest version enables advisors to have confidential discussions that will offer both parties an understanding of their career path and future goals.
“By using this tool, United Capital and the prospective adviser discover how they compare,” said Matt Brinker, senior vice president of partner development and acquisitions.
“The cost of a poor fit comes in the form of a lose-lose-lose situation where the advisor, their clients and we as a firm all fail to benefit. This is a big reason why we’ve chosen to invest in this tool,” Brinker said.
Advisors use a color-coded deck of 12 cards, which are separated into three categories: money, time and work. After independently ranking the priority of the four cards in each category, the advisor selects their top five cards - regardless of color or category.
“As advisors take part in the exercise, they clarify, personalize and communicate their own goals and compare what they have self-identified as their priorities to United Capital’s priorities, services and operational offerings,” the firm said.
“When we have advisors who are looking to join United Capital, this tool helps us get to the ‘why’ of that decision in one meeting instead of three to five,” it added.
