United Arab Bank Brings In Wealth Management Head From Lloyds

Sharjah-headquartered United Arab Bank has appointed Simon Taylor as head of its Sadara Wealth Management subsidiary.
Taylor started his wealth management career at Prudential Assurance and spent 19 years in a range of wealth management, retail banking, mortgage and credit risk positions with Lloyds Banking Group.
According to a statement, he moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2004 from his former base in central Scotland to join Lloyds’ international wealth team in the offshore banking division. He was latterly head of mortgages in Dubai, having previously served as head of business development for retail banking.
United Arab Bank was established in 1975 as a joint venture between UAE investors and Societe Generale. The firm said its client base has expanded significantly since the launch of its Sadara Wealth Management unit and Islamic banking services.
