The Caprock Group, a Boise, Idaho-based multi-family office, has appointed Greg Mech as a managing director to head its new office in Newport Beach, according to the Orange County Business Journal.

Caprock, which serves as a financial advisor to high-net-worth clients, has other offices in San Jose, Seattle and Park City, Utah.

Family Wealth Report was unable to reach the firm outside of business hours to confirm the appointment or obtain further details.

Mech, has spent nearly four decades in the wealth management and consulting fields, including a 29-year tenure at Merrill Lynch, the report said. He served as a regional managing director, overseeing Merrill Lynch’s private wealth management operations in the Western US. He also was the OC market president for Bank of America.

Mech is the founder of eMaxx Partners, a virtual financial advisory firm, which launched last year.

Caprock is also a member of Family Office Exchange, the global network for the family offices industry.
