US Financial Advisory Firm Builds Singapore Team

StormHarbour, the US global markets and financial advisory firm, has bolstered its Asia-Pacific presence with a series of senior appointments for the Singapore business.
The new team, joining from Asia-Pacific alternative asset manager OPVS Group, will be part of the company's strategy to gain new clients, capitalise on emerging cross-border opportunities and establish scale in its core business.
Sandeep Gill and Barry Dick, former co-founders of OPVS, join as principal and managing director. Gill, who has experience being the global head of managing director of structured credit and derivatives at DBS Bank, will be responsible for the structuring activities across the region. Dick, previously the head of fixed income sales at Merrill Lynch Asia ex-Japan, will also be focusing on regional structuring activities.
Also joining from OPVS are Martin Otway and Nicholas Loh as directors.
Asia-Pacific is a key component in the firm's global expansion drive, extending to offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. StormHarbour was established in 2009 and has since grown to have 170 professionals across various office worldwide. It is led by Water Cheung as senior principal and chief executive.
