US Bank Names Senior Country Officer For China

JP Morgan has appointed a senior country officer for China, recruiting from a large European bank.
JP Morgan has
appointed David Li as senior country officer for China,
this publication can confirm. He previously worked at
UBS for nine years; his latest role was as chairman and country
head for China.
He will chair the bank’s local management committee and report to
Nicolas Aguzin, JP Morgan’s chairman and chief executive for
Asia-Pacific. He will remain in Beijing upon joining in October.
Li will take over from Shao Zili, who took up a more regional role at the bank in April as vice-chairman for Asia-Pacific, a report has said.
He has also worked as chairman of UBS Securities, a Beijing-based joint venture between UBS and other companies such as IFC and the State Development Investment.
“This important appointment is further evidence of our commitment
to China as a priority of
the firm. I’m delighted to have a leader of his caliber to drive
our long-term China strategy,”Aguzin said in a statement from JP
Morgan.
