UK Regulator Appoints Enforcement, Financial Crime Director

The Financial Services Authority has named Tracey McDermott as director of its enforcement and financial crime division, according to an internal announcement.
McDermott joined the FSA in 2001 as an associate in enforcement and has served as acting director since April 2011. She has experience in European and international jurisdictions, having worked in the US, Brussels and Australia as a solicitor in private practice.
Under McDermott’s leadership the division has secured over £200 million (about $312 million) in redress for consumers, as well as contacting over 76,000 people who the firm identified as targets for share fraudsters.
