Hichens Investment Management, a discretionary investment management specialist based in London, has changed its name to PSigma Investment Management to reflect the firm’s current ownership structure. In October 2003 HIM became a division of PSigma Investments, which in turn is owned by the South African financial services firm Sanlam Financial Services. In the UK Sanlam also owns consulting actuaries, Punter Southall & Co and the independent financial advisor firm, PSFM. “HIM was established in 2002 and has grown quickly to attract assets from private clients, charities and self-administered pension schemes,” said John Howard-Smith, managing director of the re-branded firm, in a statement. He added: “We have been a division of PSigma Investments Limited since October 2003 and already work very closely with them. With Hichens Harrison & Co now a public company, it seemed only logical that we should become PSigma Investment Management.” PSigma IM has around £1 billion ($1.76 billion) of assets under management, which also comprises a considerable amount of institutional money.
